On This Day in Skeeters History: May 6

The Skeeters hosted the New Britain Bees for an extra-inning affair back on this day in 2017. The Bees jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first off Skeeters starter Jake Hale but Anthony Giansanti tied things up at 1-1 in the second inning. Both teams would add another run but the game remained tied 2-2 through nine innings of play at Constellation Field thanks to solid innings of relief from Dustin Richardson, Andrew Johnston and Mark Haynes. The game wouldn’t remain tied much longer, though. Travis Scott singled with one out in the bottom of the 10th. He would move to third with two outs after a balk and ground out from Chris Nelson. The Skeeters faithful would be sent home happy after Joe Benson delivered a two-out walk-off single to send the Skeeters to a victory over the Bees.
