LAST TIME OUT: The Skeeters fell 5-4 to the Patriots on Saturday night at Constellation Field in Game 2 of the seven-game series. Paco Rodriguez, making his first appearance in his second stint with the Skeeters, took the loss in relief. Duane Below picked up the win for Somerset and Ryan Kelly collected the save.

BARNES BASH: Barrett Barnes is in the midst of a nine-game hitting streak and has gone 13-for-31 (.419) with 11 runs, two doubles, four home runs and 10 RBIs over that span. Barnes has also homered in three of his last five games and eight of his last 20 games. The seventh-year pro has set his professional single-season career high with 12 home runs, surpassing his previous high of nine home runs, which he's accomplished twice, with the last time coming in 2016 with Double-A Altoona (PIT). Barnes' 12 home runs place him in a tie for ninth in the Atlantic League.

GIANSANITY: Anthony Giansanti went 1-for-4 in Saturday's loss, extending his hitting streak to eight games. Giansanti has gone 14-for-32 (.438), with nine runs, five doubles, two home runs and eight RBIs over that span. Giansanti set the Skeeters franchise record with a 26-game hitting streak in 2017. Giansanti is also fourth in the league this season with 63 runs, sixth with a .482 slugging percentage and is tied for seventh with 24 stolen bases.

PITCHER OF THE MONTH: Matt Sergey is set to take the mound Sunday coming off being named the Atlantic League's Pitcher of the Month for July. It marked the second straight month in which a Skeeters pitcher took home the award, with Dallas Beeler winning the June Pitcher of the Month. Sergey went 3-0 with a 1.61 ERA in five July starts, striking out 26 batters to four walks in 28 innings pitched. The Skeeters won four of Sergey's five July starts and he also held opponents to a .218 average.

HOT CHAVY: Skeeters first baseman Matt Chavez has a hit in 22 of 28 games since the Atlantic League All-Star Break, including 10 multi-hit games, and has gone 38-for-111 (.342) with three home runs and 16 RBIs over that span. Chavez, a 2018 Atlantic League All-Star, leads the Skeeters with 12 games with at least three hits this season and is fourth in the league in hitting (.332), tied for seventh in RBIs (55) and 10th in the league with a .386 on-base percentage.

LATE-INNING RARITY: The Skeeters were dealt just their fourth loss when leading after five innings this season. Their 50-4 record when leading after five innings still leads the Atlantic League. They also lead the Atlantic League with a 52-1 record when leading after six innings, 54-2 record when leading after seven innings and are second in the league with a 53-1 record when leading after eight innings.

PAULINO STREAK: Felipe Paulino allowed a run in an inning of work in Friday's win over the Patriots, snapping his streak of 20 straight innings without allowing a run. It marked the end to the longest scoreless streak by a Skeeters reliever this season. It also marked just Paulino's second blown save in 25 opportunities this season. Paulino leads the Atlantic League with 23 saves and his 0.66 ERA is the lowest of any pitcher in the league with at least 40 innings pitched. Paulino has allowed runs in just three of his 41 appearances this season. Derrick Loop set the Skeeters' single-season saves record in 2016 with 32, not including four saves in the 2016 postseason.

WINNING STREAK SNAPPED: The Skeeters' winning streak was snapped at five games with Saturday's loss. It had been the longest active winning streak in the Atlantic League and was the second-longest winning streak of the season. The Skeeters have gone on three seven-game winning streaks this season (April 27-May 4; June 27-July 4; July 13-July 19). Over the winning streak, the Skeeters outscored opponents, 41-9, hitting nine home runs in the process. The Skeeters also outhit opponents 61-34 and collected at least 13 hits in three of the five games. Two of the five wins throughout the streak were shutouts and the Skeeters pitching staff carried a 1.26 ERA.

The Skeeters have gone 4-7 against the Somerset Patriots this season, going 2-3 at Constellation Field and 2-4 at TD Bank Ballpark. The Skeeters have hit .252/.311/.379 with 11 homers in 11 games against the Patriots while the pitching staff owns a 3.88 ERA against Somerset. Denis Phipps has gone 12-for-28 (.429) with a homer and an RBI in eight games against Somerset and Javier Betancourt has gone 5-for-14 (.357) with a double, triple and an RBI in five games against the Patriots.

FIRST-HALF CHAMPS: With the Skeeters' victory over Lancaster on July 1, they clinched the first-half Freedom Division title -- their first division title under first-year manager Pete Incaviglia. The only other time the Skeeters have won a first-half title came in 2013 when they won the Freedom Division with a record of 47-23. The Skeeters' last division title came in the second half of 2016 when they went on to win the Atlantic League Championship. The Skeeters have now won four Freedom Division titles in franchise history (2013 X2; 2016 (second half), 2018 (first half). They also appeared in the postseason in 2014 via a Wild Card berth.
